What (Not) To Get Him For Christmas

December 11, 2009 No Comments

The holidays are about family and spending time with those you love.

They are also a time when presents are mandatory. So what do you get for the man in your life?

Undefined

So you’ve seen him a couple of times but who knows what you guys are.

You actually don’t care as long as you keep having fun. The last time you see each other before Christmas there will be the awkward will-we- won’t-we present exchange. Here is a survival tip to get you out of it.

What not to get him:

Anything that takes the relationship to a new level:

-A book of poems about how you feel about him

-A mixed tape of romantic Christmas songs

-A home made gingerbread house with a gingerbread couple

Ideal present:

A really nice candy cane to hide in your purse. If he gives something to you, you can whip it out but if all you’re getting is a kiss then it can hang out on your tree.

New relationship

So you have taken the plunge and are now an exclusive couple. You will be exchanging presents in a romantic date before Christmas but you haven’t been together long enough to know what the ideal present is.

What not to get him:

-Things to turn him into the boyfriend of your dreams

-Stylish things he would never wear but he would look great in

-Framed picture of yourself

-An expensive DVD collection of romantic comedies

Ideal present:

Get him something you can do together, like tickets to the game or dinner at his favourite greasy spoon.

Old faithful

You’ve been together forever and can finish each other’s sentences.

You may even be sharing Christmas with your families. Picking a present is as easy as anything because you know everything about him.

What not to get him:

-Anything designed to fix the flaws in the relationship

-A book of sex tips

-A gym membership and diet plan

-Cuff links for him to wear when you walk down the aisle

Ideal present:

Something he has always wanted but would never splurge on himself, like flying lessons or backstage passes to a concert.
