Why Are Men Unbearable?
December 17, 2009 No Comments
A new Charmin toilet paper commercial has switched the doting dad for a mom.
Why the change?
Apparently men can’t be trusted with their own kids.
The ad itself is a little odd to begin with. A cartoon bear with a little boy’s voice comes out from behind the tree and turns around, showing his parent his toilet paper covered behind. The older bear, originally voiced by a man, chuckles and sends his son back. The point is that Charmin paper is strong and won’t leave paper residue.
Sometime in the last couple of weeks the bear dad became a bear mom. Which begs the question — why?
Apparently some people are uncomfortable with a young boy exposing his bum to his father. The ad is weird. (I don’t remember my parents checking for left over toilet paper). But it is bizarre behaviour for either parent.
Are we so terrified of men that we aren’t comfortable with them caring for their own children?
Just because most pedophiles are men (and there are women) doesn’t mean that most men are pedophiles.
We can hardly blame them for not cleaning up pee-pee if they aren’t to be trusted with their son’s wee-wee.
