No Nighties Allowed When Shopping

January 28, 2010 No Comments

A supermarket in Wales has banned people from shopping in their pyjamas for fear of offending customers.

I’m all for public decency but since when have pyjama bottoms become offensive?

I have seen plenty of people wearing plenty worse outfits in public and we don’t ostracise them.

What about the people who wear matching track suits (bright pink seems to be the trend now!)? Or those who smell? Or those mini-skirts where you can see their bums? Or long-haired freaky people? Or Muslim veils?

I think Tesco needs to worry less about offense and more about customer service. This is a violation of rights and in no way affects anyone’s ability to buy milk.
