Cheating Is For The Dummies And Religion For The Paranoid
March 1, 2010 3 CommentsIf your guy cheats, dump him. Not only is he an unfaithful bastard, but he’s also probably not very bright.
Scientists have found a positive correlation between intelligence and monogamy.
There is also a link between men with a lower IQ and belief in God.
The theory is that remaining faithful to your partner is a relatively new concept, evolutionarily speaking. The less intelligent men then aren’t as evolved as the more intelligent men, and are therefore more likely to cheat.
“The theory predicts that more intelligent men are more likely to value sexual exclusivity than less intelligent men,” Dr Satoshi Kanazawa, an evolutionary psychologist from the London School of Economics and Political Science, told the Daily Mail.
Because women are naturally predisposed to fidelity, there is no relation between intelligence and cheating.
He found that adolescents who described themselves as very liberal had an average IQ of 106, but their very conservative cohorts had an average IQ of 95.
Those who considered themselves not at all religious had an average IQ of 103, while the very religious had an IQ of 97.
“Humans are evolutionarily designed to be paranoid and they believe in God because they are paranoid,” said Dr Kanazawa.
“This innate bias towards paranoia served humans well when self-preservation and protection of their families and clans depended on extreme vigilance to all potential dangers. So, more intelligent children are likely to grow up to go against their natural evolutionary tendency to believe in God and they become atheists.”
Has no one told him it’s not polite to discuss religion and politics?

The reasoning behind this is more than a little stretched.
I get the feeling that there is a good idea in here somewhere, but I’m not sure what it is or where to find it. (Mick)
I think it makes a lot more sense than most want to admit. Let me guess… men commented?
