Rape And Lies And Children’s Minds

There is a trial going on in the UK about an eight-year-old girl who claimed to be raped by two ten-year-old boys.

When I first heard about it I was repulsed. But now I’m just confused.

The girl has now admitted that she was lying about the rape so she wouldn’t get in trouble with her mother for being “a tiny bit naughty”.

What she now says actually happened was that the three of them were “showing each other their genitals”, she wanted to play with them “because they were having fun and giggling”, and there was no rape involved.

All this when the day before she identified several places on her estate “where the prosecution claim she was sexually attacked”.

So what actually happened?

I certainly hope this girl was not raped and I’d much rather she was playing doctor with her boy friends.

But there certainly seems to have been a mishandling of this case. How would they be able to go through the entire process, as far as questioning in a trial, without realising something was not adding up?

On the other hand, maybe she was scared by the questioning and that caused her to lie so as to not get in more trouble.

Either way, whoever was in charge has done something wrong if this wasn’t found out earlier, or, if they put her in such a vulnerable position that she felt she had to lie in the trial.

Perhaps she was too young to be on trial, or perhaps she is a great liar. I hope they figure it out soon because if she is lying then it’s a horrible trauma to put those poor boys through.

Children are vulnerable, and no matter what actually happened, I hope they are able to give all three of these children counselling to help reduce the trauma this situation is obviously going to cause them.
