Miss USA Makes Girls Cry, Makes Men Take Interest In Beauty Pageants
May 18, 2010 1 CommentIn 2007 she won the ‘Stripper 101′ contest at the Coliseum Gentleman’s Club.
Using her looks and her body to win money and acclaim goes against everything the Miss USA competition stands for.
We are shocked and appalled by this behaviour!
Miss Michigan became the first Arab woman to win the coveted award, but that was before her antics were known to the judges. The competition rewards women for their humanitarian efforts and poise. The pictures of Rima Fakih taken three years ago degrade her fellow competitors and all American women.
Ooops! Wrong photos. These were the ones released by the Miss USA organizers to promote the show. The salacious pic is below:
Why are people shocked that a woman who is using her body to get stuff once used her body to get stuff? Let’s stop feigning shock. There are only three opinions to hold here:
1. You think beauty contests demean women already, and pole dancing is just the logical conclusion of that.
2. You think beauty contests show off nature’s gifts, and pole dancing merely provides another avenue to oogle admire these women.
3. You worry about her marriage prospects and hope that her father has set aside a nice dowry.

Did I get my third wave signals mixed up? Which is empowering and which is degrading? I can’t tell my Carrie Prejean from my Diablo Cody these days.
