Cuddles With Mom Are Best For Baby
July 27, 2010 No CommentsThere are endless reports telling women how to be good moms and they often contradict each other.
One debate is over how much we should coddle babies and how much we should let them deal with life on their own.
Looks like the verdict is in and cuddles reign supreme!
The Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health reported on 500 people they studied as babies and 30 years later.
They found that more affection as babies led to better adjusted adults.
But mothers must remember not to take it too far. Being “in-sync” with their children and not being intrusive or embarrassing as the children get older is key.
I’m glad this is what they found because it’s what I’ve always believed. The people who say that children should be left to cry on their own have always worried me, because where is the line between babies learning to fend for themselves and child abuse?
They are only helpless babies after all and we all know that getting (and giving) cuddles is the best thing in the world. Now we finally have the research to back this up.
