My Boyfriend Is Stealing My Birth Control Pills!

Ok this is a weird one. My boyfriend is stealing my birth control pills. I noticed that when I would go to take a pill that one will be missing, but I thought I had miscounted. It happened again and again so I started counting. Yep, they’re going missing. The other day I noticed him popping a pill near my dresser (where the pills are) and when I asked him what he was doing he said nothing. Should I be worried?

Of course you should be worried! I can’t think of any logical reason why he might do this, can you?

There are two issues as far as I can see: (1) he’s manipulating your birth control/fertility, (2) he’s taking female hormones that will affect his health.

First of all, stealing your birth control might lead you to become pregnant, and any man who interferes with your right to control your fertility and may subversively be trying to get your pregnant has a problem.

You need to talk to him about why he is interfering with your right to control your fertility and find out what his reasoning is.

Secondly, taking the pill might just be a curiosity for him, but it might be something more serious.

Just taking one or two pills won’t cause him much trouble. But there are physical effects (if he takes enough of them) that he needs to know about. If he takes enough the hormones will begin to have a feminizing effect on his body. The fat on his body will change, he could grow breasts, his testicles and sperm production could be reduced, he could get more emotional, and other such things.

If he is just taking them on a whim or a dare then he should stop before the side effects come. But if he is taking them sincerely then there is a possibility that he has issues with his sex and wants to become more feminized. If this is why he is doing it, then this is not the best way to go about it. These are serious drugs and if he really wants to take them a doctors supervision is the best way to go.

Is he transsexual? Is he manipulating you to get pregnant? Is he just doing it as a curiosity? Regardless of what it might be, you need to have a serious talk with this man to find out what is actually going on because these are all just speculations.

Move your pills to your purse or somewhere so you have them out of the way from him and make sure you are absolutely positive that he is doing this before you confront him about it.

Keep in mind that if you are not taking all of your pills at the correct time that you could become pregnant. You need to get yourself a complete pack of pills and use a back up method like condoms, if you are not already, for 7 days. After you have taken the pills for 7 days correctly they will be effective.

This could be a tricky issue, so good luck, and maybe get some help from your GP or a counsellor if it is beyond what you can handle on your own.
