Are Women Really Only Useful As Baby Factories And Cows?

Another medical group has said that women should not have the right to home birth in certain circumstances.
There is so much condescension among doctors towards pregnant women I have to wonder where it will all end.
Will they be caged like animals and monitored by nicotine and alcohol bracelets like criminals?
The Lancet, a leading medical journal, said, “Women have the right to choose how and where to give birth, but they do not have the right to put their baby at risk.”
Medical bodies in the UK have questioned this statement because midwives in the UK are given excellent training and this comment was based on research done in the USA.
Also, only 3% of births in the UK are at home. This compares to the Netherlands, always pioneers in sexual health, where over one-third of all births are at home.
A representative from the British Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologist said that women rarely put their babies at risk anyways.
If there is a complicated birth or pregnancy, even if they wanted a home birth, they generally choose the safest option and end up delivering in the hospital.
But regardless of whether we are talking about 3% or 33% of all births, the same logic should apply.
Women have brains and intelligence and are responsible for their own lives and those of their children. If the doctors provide them with all the information they are more than capable of making informed decisions about how they want to give birth to their children.
Enough with trying to play God. Enough with treating women like children.
The best medical professionals can do is help women make informed decisions, after that it’s beyond their control. And if they can’t handle that then maybe they should get out of health care and do something more predictable, like tax law.
It is time we stopped treating women like baby factories and cows and show them the respect they deserve as intelligent human beings.
