Have Women Brainwashed Men?

August 12, 2010 1 Comment

Men don’t understand women. Women train their boyfriends to behave the way they want. It’s all a bit nuts, if you ask me.

One men’s magazine has said that women have brainwashed men into behaving certain ways and doing things for them. What do we think about this? Read on.

Top 10 ways women have brainwashed men was published on Ask Men earlier this month.

10. It’s a man’s job.

By saying it’s a man’s job they think women can trick men into doing heavy lifting and manly chores. First of all, there’s no such thing as a “man’s job”. Second of all, if you’re not helping out with half the household chores and duties then you’re a lousy boyfriend. So stop wondering how she tricked you into it and start doing your duty.

9. Hair removal.

They seem to think that women want men to be “hairless, smooth, and aerodynamic”. This is totally wrong! I know many women who much prefer the “half caveman, a quarter gorilla and a quarter yeti” look that they say men naturally come with. We don’t want them looking prepubescent and hair can be very sexy. This idea is just a function of our modern society that is obsessed with telling people (men and women) that body hair is evil. It’s not.

8. Her superior sense of fashion.

They claim that women dressing men is the way that men end up in very embarrassing clothes. This is wrong. Some men have a great sense of style and some don’t. If you are one of the ones who doesn’t then you should be happy that your woman is improving your look.

7. Shared diet.

If a woman chastises you for having a burger when she’s having salad then she has serious issues, yes. But most people aren’t like this. And there can be some good sides to shared diet. It’s a good way to make positive life changes because you will have the support of each other.

6. “Normal” pregnancy weight gain.

Contrary to popular belief, most women don’t turn into scary food obsessed monsters who “repeatedly slapped” their partners when approaching “their” food. Yes, they may have their moments, but they are still the same woman with the same ideas about food and diet that they were before they got pregnant – just with a bigger appetite. Not to mention that most women don’t actually know much about how much food is good to eat when pregnant. With the media constantly telling us that this scary monster exists, a lot of women might assume that’s the way to be. Only those with good access to care and services will know what the most recent research says about these kinds of things.

5. Mandatory diamonds.

I don’t think diamonds are mandatory and I know many other women who agree with me. I know one woman with a ruby engagement ring and several who don’t think engagement rings are necessary at all! We are rational creatures and know that diamonds are expensive. We understand that a man might not be able to afford them and we would certainly put his ability to pay the rent before our need for jewellery. So long as the gift comes from the heart we will be happy.

4. Wedding proposal deadline.

Of course there should be a deadline! We can’t wait around indefinitely until he decides he is ready to commit. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having a mature and honest adult discussion about what you want out of the relationship and when you want to meet certain goals. And the best relationships are those with shared goals so talking about it and deciding together when you want to get married is the best solution of all. Anyone who thinks wedding proposals should be a surprise planned solely by the man is obviously still living in the dark ages.

3. Sex as a reward.

Some women do this and they obviously have problems. Most women don’t use sex as a reward, but maybe it just seems that way. We are not rewarding you for doing the housework by giving you sex. What you need to understand is that doing the housework is a genuine turn on for women and that is the reason why you get sex after doing good deeds.

2. Only men have egos.

Everybody has ego and a desire for praise. But men do have bigger egos than women and are more competitive naturally. It may just be that some women don’t understand why you are so excited and because of that they think you are being unusually egotistical.

1. Guys’ night out.

They seem to think that women “allow” men to have their guys’ night out as a reward for good behaviour. Any woman who doesn’t let you have your man time and demands you to be with her every second of the day has serious abandonment (or control) issues. But most of us are not like this. We understand you want your time with the guys and we like it because we also need time away from you!
