If Sex Sells — It’s Porn
August 25, 2010 1 CommentJenna Jameson has sex on camera, and she isn’t afraid to admit it.
Sex tapes featuring Kim Kardashian and Kendra Wilkinson are making the rounds, and Spencer Pratt is threatening to release one of him and Heidi. They are not the first stars to have a “private” video hit the shelves. Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson got there first, when there was still an air of illegitimacy about it.
Veteran porn star Jameson is disgusted by the whole thing. She tweeted yesterday:
Why do people do porno tapes, sell them, make boatloads of money, then LIE about being victimized. I know one girl who sold her tape herself…
@SOFTBLUSHcom I know one of the girls that acts so prim and proper and sold her tape to get famous. The others I just speculate… I own up to my porn, I don’t cry and say my boyfriend stole it.
It says a lot about pornography if any of these tapes were released intentionally (*ahem). These stars are willing to have sex on camera — they just don’t want to be called porn stars.
There is a difference though — the sex tapes generally feature an established couple as opposed to hired professionals. Is that enough to change it from icky pornography to a sexy, sexy sex tape?

I hope you’re being sarcastic there. Why is porn icky? And who says sex between an established couple is sexy? Most of what Jenna pulls off is a hell of a lot sexier than Paris’ mid-coital text messaging.
And Jenna makes a good point. At least be straight about who you are and what you’re about. Acting like you’re a victim damsel because your boyfriend leaked a sex tape (truly a revolting crime if true) when the tape was intended for a wide audience, is unethical and very unfeminist.
