Craigslist Closes Down Adult Services — Apparently Complaining About Censorship
September 6, 2010 No CommentsCraigslist has come under fire, or been under a constant barrage of bullets, because of their adult services section. Critics claim that the site’s lack of supervision mean that it is being used to sell the sexual services of trafficked people and children.
Two weeks ago, 17 state attorneys in the United States asked the site to shut the section down. It has and now in it’s place is a “censored” logo.
Oh cry me a river, Craigslist. Freedom of speech has never included the right to engage in criminal behaviour. Selling kids as sexual aids it not legal. Neither is advertising access to the vagina, ass or mouth of an unwilling participant.
Sure the attorneys have political motivations, but I doubt they would have gone after the site if it didn’t have a reputation as a quick and easy way to get some pedo action. There is little public tolerance for interfering with the rights of adults to screw whoever they want.
Don’t feel too bad for the site. They are still making plenty of money connecting victims of sex slavery with their abusers in other countries all over the world.
