She’s Missing A Shirt, And A Hand
October 20, 2010 No CommentsThe tagline reads: “Look me in the eyes… I said the eyes.”
The ad is identical to the 1990s Wonderbra campaign but with one major difference. It is not her bust which distracts the viewer, but her arm — and its lack of a hand.
The picture is part of a campaign by CAP48, to spread awareness about the issues faced by handicapped people.
“The idea was to try to change the way so-called normal people view the handicapped,” said Johan Stockmann, communications officer of CAP48.
“They look at the handicap, not at the person. We want to change that.”
The ad features Tanja Kiewitz, a 35 year old graphic designer, who has found notoriety though the campaign.
“People often think that handicapped people don’t have a personality, that they are strange people,” she said.
“They have to see that I’m a woman above all and that I can be beautiful and sexy, and the handicap is secondary.”
