A Woman’s Place At Work (’70s Style)
November 2, 2010 No Comments
The working world can be especially difficult for a woman — we are paid less, progress slower and have more domestic responsibilitie to juggle — but can you image what it must have been like to walk into an office in the 1970s?
A Paycheck Of Your Own was written to help women make the transition from mommy to secretary, but it fails hilariously.
Unfortunately, the authors misread their objective, thinking that women wanted to get “a head” in business. At least that is the only reason I can imagine why bouncing around on the bosses lap comes under “Taking the Initiative.”
The good news is that whether women are running the office, or their homes, their place in the world is clear:
Women belong on their knees
… under a man.
Thank you, old cranky feminists, for fighting the good fight.
