Should Children Be Nudists?
December 22, 2010 1 CommentA naked adult around little kids sends off immediate warning bells, but what if they both live in a nudist colony?
Although there are more than 10 naturist colonies in Florida, the Department of Children and Families does not have a policy regarding children in these living conditions.
“There are currently no rules or regulations about the situation,” the DCF spokesperson told the New Times.
Children in naturist communities spend most of their time naked and around adults whose genitalia is completely exposed. Some people worry that this could create problems for the kids later in life.
“They grow up without body hangups,” said Morley Schloss who is a partial owner of Sunsport Gardens, a nudist colony in Florida geared towards families.
“They grow up seeing varieties of body types.”
Nudists would be the first to tell you that there is nothing inherently sexual about the human body, especially when one is exposed to it every day in all of it’s flawed glory. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that it does create a situation where it is easier for abuse to happen because many of the privacy barriers are already down.
“There’s nothing wrong about being a nudist,” said Grey Vanaman, whose extended family staged an intervention to protect his children from the lifestyle.
“In fact, there’s everything right about it.”
Is exposing kids to naked adults right or wrong? Does it expose them to understanding or danger?

Don’t think it would make much difference. Predators know what prey looks like, dressed or not.
