Sir Daddy Elton John

Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish have announced the birth of their surrogate son.

Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was a Christmas baby born on December 25th to an anonymous surrogate mother in California.

But is Elton John too old for a baby? He originally said, ”I always said ‘no’ because I am 62 and I think because of the travelling I do and the life I have, maybe it wouldn’t be fair for the child.” But after falling in love with a child they were trying to adopt (they weren’t successful) they decided to have this one by surrogacy.

Whether or not he loves it, he’s still old to be having a child. His partner is 48-years-old, which is younger, but still old. I’m sure they have enough money to afford child care and nannies when they will need them, but I still think it sad that John might not see the child’s 21st birthday. It just goes to show, when it comes to parenting, money just might be more important than age.

I wish them well and hope their new little family is happy and healthy.
