Princess Boy Defies Stereotypes

January 4, 2011 No Comments

The mother of a “Princess Boy” is defying stereotypes by publishing a book about her experiences with a son who likes to wear dresses.

He is 5-years-old and likes wearing dresses and jewellery and sparkly pink things.

Cheryl Kilodavis’ book “is designed to start and continue a dialogue about unconditional friendship and teaches children — and adults — how to accept and support children for who they are and how they wish to look. ”

It’s great that she accepts her son and encourages him to be himself, no matter what others might think — we need more people like her in this world.

I just hope he doesn’t suffer for this or end up resenting his mother when he is older. Hopefully with a mother like that he will learn that it’s okay and doesn’t matter what others think, so long as he is happy.
