Sex Causes Heart Attacks (But Also Makes You Fit)
March 24, 2011 No CommentsIt’s true, sex can increase the chances of a heart attack!
Of course, this is only a small chance and there’s a lot people can do to prevent this.
Researchers found links between physical activity, sex, and heart attacks when looking at 14 studies of over 6,000 people. They found that physical activity, including sex, can trigger heart attacks in older people who are unfit anyways.
- Physical activity and sex increased the risk of heart attack by a factor of about three, according to the analysis of the pooled results. Exercise increased the risk of sudden cardiac death by nearly five times. The researchers didn’t find a triggering relationship between sex and sudden cardiac death, that is, a sudden death from a heart problem.
But the risk for an individual is low so it’s not really anything to worry about. And the fitter people are the less chances of physical activity being a risk.
In fact, I’d recommend more sex because the more you do it the fitter you get, and you can have fun trying! Just ask Hef.
