Dating Site Isn’t A Meat Market — It’s A Slave Auction
April 13, 2011 No CommentsSick of spending money on girls and not getting any action?
Do you want to pay for sex, but don’t want to experience the tawdriness of prostitution?
Then What’s Your Price is for you.
This charming new dating site allows The Generous (read: men) to bid on The Attractive (read: women). Once the bid is accepted, the date occurs, the money is paid and everyone is happy.
Does that sound like prostitution to you? Why? Just because someone is paying another to perform a sexual service? Here, I’ll let the CEO, Brandon Wade, explain:
- When capitalism is mixed in with dating, all of a sudden people start concluding “it must be prostitution”. But does paying money for a cup of coffee every morning mean Starbucks is engaging in prostitution? Does paying for gas every time you fill up at the gas station mean that Mobil or BP is pimping? Does donating money to the Church every Sunday morning equate religion to prostitution? Obviously NOT, and obviously buying a First Date isn’t either.
Exactly, because I expect a blow job with my morning coffee and a quickie with my gas. If that sounds unreasonable then you don’t understand capitalism, baby.
Sure, the whole idea of women disrobing before a panel of men to determine whether one will bid on her does conjure up images of a slave market. Of course, the obvious difference here is that the women get to keep the money, and the men are assured that their purchase won’t run away.
