More Chicks To Bang: Sex Offender Edition
May 16, 2011 No CommentsThe women who commit sexual abuse are terrifying creatures with a hidden agenda. However, a new list of “hot” sex offenders helpfully ranks them according to their level of attractiveness.
Why publish such a thing? What makes “hot” an appropriate adjective? Apparently after reading the thunderstorm of angry comments, they realised they needed to clear things up:
Note: A lot of people riled up; in case you don’t read the comments we posted this in response:
I can understand how some people might react to this. On the other hand, it’s a way of getting readers to look at the info, maybe get them to realize there are people out there like this and they all don’t look like the obvious stereotypical pervert.
It’s understood not everyone will agree.

So, this is their way of trying to swing their inappropriate compilation into a positive light. While the Houston Press makes a valiant effort to try to prove that their list of “hotties” is really for the greater good, is it really necessary to keep the list entitled “Ten Hottest Women on the Texas Sex Offenders List”? How about something like, “Women on the Texas Sex Offenders List that Don’t Look Like Sex Offenders.” What’s with the need to objectify all women?
One commenter sums up all of the concern with the article by saying:
- However, the article wasn’t called the 10 nicest/innocent looking sex offenders; it was called the 10 hottest female sex offenders. This is bad judgement; we’ve all been guilty of it, so no need to cast stones. I know, a catchy title grabs attention. But I hope that the Houston Press will display a bit of empathy for the victims and victims in general. Could you imagine if your rapist made the 10 hottest sex offenders list?
This commenter has another valid point; What about the victims of these 10 offenders? How painful it must be to see the woman that violated you being considered “hot” by an audience of people who are willfully ignoring how she ended up on the list. But sadly, this is just another example of a lack of empathy. We forget very easily that each of these women abused a person whose life will never be the same.
Anyone could be a victim and anyone could be an offender. A neighbor, a beautiful woman, an old smiling man, a “hot” twenty-something babysitting young kids, each and everyone of us is capable. No need for a ridiculous list of the 10 hottest. We know they are out there.
