Good People Have Good Orgasms
June 8, 2011 No CommentsHealthy traits like self-esteem, empathy towards others, and autonomy are great to have in general, but they are also signs of a great sex life.
A new study delving into the world of sexual pleasure in connection with these three traits has found that by being confident, empathetic people, we are allowing ourselves to achieve positive sexual relations, full of orgasms and oral sex.
The researchers at Johns Hopkins surveyed 3,237 heterosexual people ranging from 18 to 26. First looking at each person’s self-esteem, empathy, and autonomy in daily life, the researchers then compared findings to reported orgasms and how much they enjoyed giving and receiving oral sex.
The findings were quite hopeful, especially for young women. Apparently, the more we love ourselves and are kind to others, the more orgasms we get. Karma rules.
But an interesting side note about the female statistics made me twitch. For women, giving men pleasure increases their self-esteem. It is sad to think that achieving an orgasm or giving a guy one could give us self-esteem. Is making him sweat really one of the best ways to make us feel good? Shouldn’t we feel good without having to please a man?
I’ve got to admit that once I make him moan, my confidence score shoots up a few points. I’m also being incredibly empathetic, working towards his pleasure and rarely my own. But I guess I’m making myself happy?
This could go back and forth with a “chicken or the egg” type of analysis for days, but in the end, it seems that both sex and esteem can work together, taking turns in effecting one another.
All I know is that being an all around good person has been proven to get me more out of my sex sessions. Whether I’m gaining confidence or not.
