I Love My Beach Body (And So Do You)
June 14, 2011 4 CommentsAs soon as New Year celebrations pass, infomercials start harrowing you with exercise plans and diets to prepare your body for the star accessory of summer: the swimsuit.
Judging from the banged-out, super slim figures of the women in those ads, being fit for summer is an insurmountable task but a new study reveals that women feel just fine in swimwear, no weight loss necessary.
Statistics show that only 18 percent of women don’t like how they look in a bathing suit while 40 percent are impartial and 36 percent are OK with it — meaning that 76 percent of women aren’t having nightmares about what they look like poolside. That’s a lot more positive attitude than the average girly magazine would lead you to believe.
Although it’s refreshing to hear women feel okay about their beach bodies, the study implies that they do because the swimsuits are slimming. In fact, of the women surveyed, 50 percent said they would most likely stick to one-piece suits this summer as their slimming effect has been verified.
But ladies, the beach is for fun and games in the water and relaxation. Don’t fret trying to find a suit that will make you look 10 pounds thinner. If you’re comfortable and having fun, you’ll look like a million bucks no matter what you wear.

In my 20s I’d to go the beach with friends and fret about how I looked in my bathing suit (which they never saw because I was always covered). But the oddest thing happened the other day.
I was at the beach with my dad and my dog when I suddenly realized I was walking along the crowded beach in my tankini and without anything covering me up. And I felt comfortable, confident even.
I wasn’t smaller, more toned or wearing a fancy tummy tucking device — I was just too busy enjoying the sun and surf to care. It was great!
sounds lovely… don’t I wish
and I always found your beach body perfectly enviable
not after this slackass winter *sigh* but thanks sweets!
