New Doll Suckles Little Girls

Toy dolls have gotten increasingly creepy. They first started by blinking and next thing you know they are crying and peeing. With the Breast Milk Baby, you can help your daughter fulfill even more of the perfect mother’s duties by making her doll breastfeed.

The doll, made by Spanish company Berjuan Toys, comes with “special flowered halter top which activates the dolls suckling mechanism.” Any girl can now put on the top and make the doll latch on to the pink flowers that cover her nipples. The Breast Milk Baby will then suck on them and even start crying it is not made to burp after its meal.

Not everyone is reacting very positively to this new toy, which is currently on sale online for $89 a piece. Many fear this toy plays into the trend of sexualizing children.

“I think that it’s totally bizarre to teach a prepubescent child how to breastfeed. Quite strange,” said one mother while another added, “I don’t approve of it at all. I think it’s ridiculous for a child. Let her learn it when she’s older.”

But not everyone sees the harm. “I don’t think it’s sexualizing any more than a little boy standing next to his father shaving and putting on shaving cream,” Dr. Ned Hallowell said.

If breast is best maybe a doll that teaches girls that breastfeeding is cool could have some benefits — especially considering that many dolls come with a baby bottle. The more disturbing part is that the nipples on the halter top are not actually shaped like nipples. Like the blue liquid of sanitary pad commercials, the flower-shaped areolas maintain the idea that breasts are meant to be hidden, even from your imaginary baby.

For almost 90 dollars, you’d think they could make realistic nipples.
