The Benefits Of Mature Virginity
August 1, 2011 1 CommentVirginity loss has been the bane of many young people’s existence. Once friends take the plunge and spread legs, there is a fire that begins to burn inside, pushing you to join the club. But is the club really so fantastic any way?
Obviously, sex is wonderful. It allows you to make mature decisions about your body and opens up your world to a new type of insane pleasure. Your emotional side is challenged and your maturity is bound to take a jump upwards. But waiting for the right person and right moment, even if it means you’ll be waiting does have it’s perks. Sookie Stackhouse on True Blood didn’t lose her virginity until age 25! It may have been with a vampire, but it was amazing and emotional for her. Everyone should be able to have that.
For starters, there are STIs. Without sex, there is really no way to contract a sexual infection. Awesome! Sure, there are other things to do sexually that could lead to the contraction of a disease, but when it comes to HIV specifically, there is no way sexually acquire it without actual sex. No sex? No harm.
Then, we also have the most fear-inducing possibility that rests on every sexually active individual’s mind: pregnancy. For most teens, getting pregnant is the worst thing that could ever happen. If there is no sex, there sure as hell is no baby worries. And, believe it or not, I am sure that waiting results in the most satisfying, emotional sex anyone could wish for.
When people hear that someone is a virgin at age 23 or 24, they automatically begin to wonder what could be “wrong” with them. How are they so old, but so sexually inexperienced? Has no one ever liked them enough? As hard as it may be to believe nowadays, sex is a beautiful thing that many wish to share with someone they love. At age 14 or 27.
