Lady Air Guitarists Rule!

As much as we may appreciate female guitar virtuosos like Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Chrissie Hynde or Courtney Love, sometimes watching a little air guitar can be just as inspiring (or at least make us want to get up and jam).
At the 16th Air Guitar World Championships in Oulu, Finland, women played their hearts out. It was “a celebration of the prettier sex, when the international air guitar scene witnessed a record-breaking number of female air guitarists on the second, the Compulsory Song Round in Oulu, Finland on Friday 26 August.”
Who took the top prize? For the first time in the history of air guitar battles in Finland, it was a woman! Aline Westphal wooed the crowd with her bold performance, off-the-wall energy and devilish gestures. After all, she had to live up to her alias “The Devil’s Niece.”
You may think it’s just a joke. I mean, they’re not actually playing the guitar. But make no mistake, they have hardcore fans out there just like real rockers. As Westphal lets loose on stage, I can’t help but think she’s one fierce fake guitarist.
With or without instruments, it’s obvious that women rock.
