Stop Being Ashamed Of Your Botox Habit
August 31, 2011 No CommentsSome women want to get Botox to smooth out their wrinkles and make them look younger. Who cares?
Women care.
Young women (average age of 19) and older women (average age of 70) think that middle-aged women who get Botox injections are vain, according to a study at the University of Toronto.
It seems a little judgmental if you ask me. For young women, it’s just unfair. They don’t yet know what it’s like to face the pressures that aging brings. As for older women, don’t they understand? There was a time when they hit middle age. Even if they aged gracefully, it probably wasn’t an easy road.
When our culture wants beauty and demands youth no matter what age you are, how can we judge these women for trying to conceal their age? It’s a bit extreme to say that they’re vain by succumbing to what is so strongly expected of them.
It’s great if you want to laugh in the face of age, but not all women do. If we have the resources to buy age-defying beauty creams and the technology to get Botox, why the hell not?
