Hey Guys, Need A (Fake) Girlfriend?
October 4, 2011 No CommentsDating is a lot of work. It’s no surprise that often singles dream of the end result and dread the process.
So screw it. As a man, single life means going out with your boys guilt-free, not having to spend time and money into pleasing a lady and pampering yourself for a change.
The downside is that people keep asking you why you’re single. You go to family gatherings and feel badgered all night by aunts and uncles who just want to see you settle down with a nice girl. Luckily, a website called FakeGirlfriend.co is at your service. You can say you have a girlfriend without all the trouble of actually having one.
All you have to do is put (201) 804-6979 in your contact list under your fake girlfriend’s name and when you’re out with your friends you can text the number and it will respond with a “girlfriend-esque” message.
Sounds perfect, right?
Wrong. The messages are just as silly as the concept. You sign up for the service because you “don’t want to look lame,” and then she says things like, “Why don’t you leave the boys and come hang out with me?” and “Please come hang out with me? Please? I really miss you.” In the end, you may not look lame, but you’ll probably feel pathetic. Men don’t want a needy and desperate real girlfriend, so why would they want a fake one?
And although you may subscribe to feel less embarrassed in front of your buddies and your family, is it really worth being phoney?
I mean, it’s not like being single is a rare condition, and it’s certainly nothing to be ashamed of. If people keep asking you why you’re single maybe it just means they’re shocked that someone so awesome isn’t off the market.
Besides, if you pretend to have a girlfriend you may miss out on the chance of finding a real one. Whether you’re “single” or “in a relationship,” feel no shame.
