Homebirth Shared Live With Thousands Of People

October 17, 2011 1 Comment

It was inevitable that there were difficulties, but luckily, they were mostly technical.

Nancy Salgueiro successfully delivered a six pound, 10 ounce boy at 3:18 a.m on Sunday. It was live-streamed online, as it happened, to an audience of 2000 people.

She is a childbirth educator and wanted to share her experience to dispel some of the myths about birth, and home-births in particular. Her husband supported her through the labour and the midwives arrived in time to assist with the post-partum process.

If you missed it, a video of the early labour is available here. She will also be re-streaming tonight, at 10pm EST. The password is “naturalbirthrocks.”

Congrats to Nancy and the rest of her family!
