Happy Spirit Day!

It’s Spirit Day today, a day to show support for LGBT young people by wearing purple and speaking out against bullying.
We may think that the fight has been won, with so many stories about legalizing gay marriage and gay rights in the news, but as recently as this past weekend yet another gay teenager took his own life because of the bullying and resulting depression he suffered from.
So take a moment today to remember that young people need our help and support. We need to let them know that it’s okay to be gay (or bisexual or lesbian or transgender or whatever else they might identify as) and that it really can get better.
Don’t forget to “go purple” and show your support.
