Want To Find True Love? Science Can Help
November 14, 2011 No CommentsTired of going on countless bad dates? Then stop leaving your love life up to chance! This is the 21st century after all. We no longer need to actually meet someone to find out if there’s chemistry. All we have to do to find true love is look at our genes.
At least, that is the hope of one new company called GenePartner.com. The company will match up your human leukocyte antigens (HLAs) with those of others whose genes are compatible. Love is no coincidence, as the site’s tag line reads.
All you have to do is swab the inside of your cheek with a Q-tip and send it to the company. Sounds romantic, right? GenePartner has linked up with dating websites that send you a list of compatible matches. Sites like Sens2Love and Eventful Dating will soon be offering this gene matching.
Maybe it’s because science is not my thing, but this sounds creepy to me. Can’t we just leave love alone instead of turning into a science project? The mystery of why you love someone is what makes it special. And the idea of sending your DNA in the mail to some strange company is unsettling.
If science can help you really find love, there’s nothing wrong with that. But in my opinions some things, like love, should not be explained. Let’s leave some magic in the world.
