Most of us want some extra cash to help out around the house, but few of us turn to the sex industry. But it looks like the phone sex industry might be an exception.
A survey says that many stay-at-home moms are turning to phone sex as a career that’s easily manageable with kids and chores that keep them in the house. In fact, the number of moms looking into sex work has increased 400 percent in the last 18 months alone!
They say the bad economy is the most likely reason for this. Good jobs are scarce and women can easily work for a sex line anonymously and from the comfort of their own home. They might feel “disgusted speaking intimately with strangers while [their child] sleeps down the hall,” but it’s the only job they were able to get and is a fast way to earn money.
It’s horrible that the economy is so bad that women feel the only choice they have is to turn to the sex industry when before they would never have considered it. Yes, working from home as a mother is convenient, but wouldn’t it be better if they could get jobs that don’t leave them feeling morally compromised? This is yet another reason why the business world needs to get with the times, have more family-friendly policies and start looking at part-time working mothers as a viable option rather than a burden.
