Introducing The First At-Home Infertility Test For Men
February 27, 2012 No Comments
I can’t imagine how awkward it must be to..you know..produce a sperm sample at the doctor’s office. It seems downright impossible with all those people around, in a small room that has been used for that purpose for years. Fortunately for men, this humiliating visits may soon be over. There is now an inexpensive way to conduct your own infertility test at home.
SpermCheck Fertility is now offering this DIY infertility test for men. It has a 98 percent accuracy rate and is relatively inexpensive at $39.99.
Believe it or not, this new tool could significantly benefit women. When a couple has trouble getting pregnant, the woman is always checked first. Both the man and the woman are equally likely to be the cause of infertility, but it is women who are often tested and blamed first. Only 20 percent of couples having pregnancy trouble get a sperm count early on or even at all.
At-home sperm counts could prevent women from having needless medical procedures to determine infertility — or at least make the burden shared more equally between men and women. Infertility brings with it a mix of embarrassment, confusion, anger and probably a whole host of other unpleasant emotions. Dealing with this situation at home and in private could make the situation less painful.
